Ellen Jean Bain Robertson (Lena)

Geraldine and family would like to thank everyone for the many kind expressions of sympathy shown to them by cards, flowers and baking, following the sad loss of Lena. Thanks also to Rev. Janet Easton Berry for her comforting service, to Sanders Harper and his team for their efficient and caring services, to The Flower Patch for the beautiful floral tributes, to The Norseman Hotel for their catering and to everyone who joined the family to pay their last respects. Special thanks go to the Riverside Nursing Home who looked after Lena so well during her short stay there, to all the staff in the Bignold Wing, Caithness General Hospital for their and kindness to Lena during her 5 months in hospital and finally huge thanks to all Lena’s Home Carers, who were dedicated in looking after her for a long time prior to her hospitalisation. £200 raised in the collection will go to The Riverside Nursing Home.

Elizabeth Finlayson (nee Mackay)

The family of Elizabeth would like to thank all family, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy. Our appreciation and gratitude to the many carers, district nurses and staff of Caithness General who cared for and provided support to Elizabeth. Thanks too to Rev Howard Stone, Clair Harper & Son Funeral Directors and Castletown Hotel for all they did to help us celebrate Elizabeth’s life and to all those who joined us to pay their last respects. A sum of £900 was raised and will be split equally between Hearing and Sight Care and the League of Friends of Caithness General Hospital.

Joyce Webster (nee Swanson)

Mark, Melanie and Annette , Would like to thank all who have taken time to send cards , flowers and kind wishes on the passing of our mum and sister Joyce. We have been humbled by the support that has been shown. We would also like to thank Sarah Wilkinson for her kind words , we would also like to thank the Flowerpatch , for the beautiful flowers , The Norseman Hotel for all their support . Finally Sanders and his team for the guidance and support during this difficult time . Our collection at the door raised £396.75 which will be passed on to the PPP Pensioners Lunch club.

James McAulay

The family of the late James, Staxigoe wish to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for their thoughtful expressions of sympathy extended to them by cards, telephone calls and visits following their recent sad loss, sincere thanks are also due to those who kindly gifted meals, home baking and floral tributes. Special thanks to Rev Janet Easton Berry for her comforting and uplifting service. Sanders Harper and his team for such professional and efficient funeral arrangements. The Flower Patch for beautiful floral arrangements. The Nethercliffe Hotel for refreshments. Grateful thanks to all that paid their last respects at restrooms and graveside.

Finally the Seaview Nursing Home and staff for all their kindness and outstanding care and support given to James. A sum of £702.90 was raised for the Seaview House Care Home Residents Fund.

David Miller Gunn Booth

John, George, Donald, Marty and families would like to thank the many friends, family and former colleagues for their kindness and support on the loss of their dear brother, much loved uncle and grand-uncle, David. Special thanks to Sarah Wilkinson for her comforting eulogy, and Sanders Harper and his team for their professional care and support. We would also like to thank everyone for their generosity in raising £1003 for the Wick Paths Group whose work enhances the routes David walked daily.

Iona and Heather would like to thank all family, friends and neighbours for all
their support with visits, messages, cards, flowers etc following the sad loss
of Netta.

Special thanks to Rev David Malcolm for his comforting service, Sanders Harper and his team for their professionalism and efficiency. Elisabeth Sutherland (nee MacBeath)

William, Elspeth and their families would like to express sincere thanks to the many friends and family for all the kind expressions of sympathy following the sad loss of Elret. Thanks to Rev Elinor Gordon for her comforting service, Sanders Harper and his team for their professional and efficient funeral arrangements. To all who attended the church service and graveside, special thanks to Dougie Watson "piper on parade" for his poignant playing of the bagpipes. Jan Sutherland Floristry for the beautiful floral arrangement; to Bunillidh Social Club along with Fiona Polson for the refreshments after the funeral. Finally Pulteney House staff for all their care and kindness, a sum of £600 was raised for the Pulteney House Amenities Fund.

Lillias Budge

Allison Sandy & Scot would like to thank all family, friends and neighbours for all their support with visits, messages, cards, flowers and food following the passing of Lillias. To Sarah Wilkinson Humanist Celebrant for her compassion and comforting eulogy, to Sanders Harper and his team for their guidance, attention to detail and fantastic service. To Flower Patch for the amazing floral tributes and Mackays Hotel for a beautiful meal and wonderful personal service. Finally to Donna Grant and her team at Riverside Care Home for the love, care and support of Lillias and also to Allison and Sandy that they provided. All donations will be passed on to the Laurandy day care centre for the wonderful care and support they also provided to Lillias. Finally at peace.

George Cormack

Helen, Raymond and family would like to thank everyone for their expressions of sympathy and kindness following the sad loss of George. Special thanks to Sarah for her very comforting service and to Paul for his heartfelt goodbye to George. Colin, Wendy and Fiona would like to thank family, friends and neighbours for all their support with messages, cards, flowers and donations following the passing of our mum Rena. To Rev. Linda Broadley for her care and comfort, Sanders for the efficient funeral arrangements, Barbara for playing the organ and all the District Nurses and the hospital at home team. Helen Harrold (nee Carter)

Hamish, Donna and Hamish would like to thank all family and friends for the kind expressions of sympathy received following the sad loss of Helen, special thanks to Rev Janet Easton Berry for the comforting and uplifting service, Sanders Harper for all their help, Norseman Hotel for the refreshments, Flower Daze for the beautiful flowers, special thanks to Emily for the amazing arrangements in the church and Cynthia for her musical accompaniment. Donations for Myasthenia Gravis came to £337.00.

P.D.R

With typical tenacity, Dr P.D. Robertson lived into his 94th year. Born in Aberdeen in 1930, Patrick Dugan was the third of Lady and George’s four sons. Qualifying as a doctor, in 1954, from Aberdeen’s school of medicine, Pat married Nina Romero in 1955. They had daughters Amanda and Madeleine. In 1970, Dr Pat and his family moved to Wick; he became the consultant physician at Wick Central Hospital. A product of the first years of the NHS, P.D.R stayed committed to the original ethos of the NHS. In 1991, Pat was awarded the OBE for his work as part of Scotland’s Children’s Panel. In 1995, he retired from his position at Caithness General Hospital.

Pat is survived by Nina, younger brother Mervyn, and Madeleine & Mark. He was returned to Aberdeenshire, settling at Clovery Woods of Rest.

Madeleine’s thanks go to many, including the doctors who attended to him over the years; Wick’s district nurses and ambulance service; Lisa Webster, Sadie Rosie, Ashley Edwards, Donna Gunn, Fiona Mackay, Valerie Robertson, and Lesley Thain.

Once again, thanks go to Sanders and everyone at Clair Harper and Son.

On her father’s behalf, Madeleine sends her respects to former colleagues from his days at the Central Hospital and CGH, particularly Carol & Janice, and the family of the late June Mathieson. Pat’s love goes to his posse.

Alexander Florence (Sandy)

Kathleen, Raymond, Brian and families would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who offered their sympathy, on our loss of Sandy, by cards, phone calls, messaging and visits. The support has been overwhelming and we shall be eternally grateful. Thank you so much to Rev. Linda Broadley for such a special and comforting service also thank you to Rev. Matt Alexander. Words cannot express how touched we have been by the eulogy by Sandy’s best friend Jimmy Johnston. It was so beautiful and sincere and will be remembered not only by the family but everyone who heard it. Thank you to all who gifted us with food, baking, flowers, etc. we feel so blessed. We must thank all the people who offered friendship and love to Sandy over the last ten years including the Parkinson Group, Befrienders, Dementia Group, The Laurandy Centre and Riverside Home who also welcomed us as a family. We’re also very grateful to staff at Caithness General Hospital who made Sandy’s last few days so comfortable. Thank you Sanders for your help and guidance in arranging Sandy’s funeral, The Norseman Hotel for refreshments and especially to all who attended the funeral and made us realise just how special Sandy was to so many people. £760 was collected for The Laurandy Centre.

Gary Teuchert

Clive and Brenda would like to thank family, friends and neighbours for all their support with messages, cards, flowers and donations following the passing of their son Gary. To Rev Heather Stewart for her care and comforting service, Sanders for the efficient funeral arrangements, the Nethercliffe hotel for the refreshments, Money raised for Cancer Research came to £870.50

Ronald Simpson

David, Alan, and Hugh would like to thank family, friends and neighbours for all their support with messages, cards, flowers and baking/meals, following the very sudden death of Ronald. Sincere thanks to Rev Matt Alexander, Wick Baptist Church for his compassionate and comforting service. Thanks to Jane Hamilton and Eilidh Patterson for playing beautifully at the funeral and for Pulteneytown Church for providing the venue. Huge thanks to all the many friends and colleagues who attended the funeral and paid their last respects to Ronald. It was greatly appreciated by the family. Thanks also to the staff and Committee of the Seaforth Club for organising the wake and Amalie’s Catering for supplying the food. The family would also like to thank Sanders Harper and the team at Sinclairs Funeral Directors for their sympathetic and efficient funeral arrangements.
A total of £2,151.27 was raised for the Wick branch of the RNLI.

James McPhee

Fiona and the family would like to thank family and friends for the lovely flowers, cards, text messages and baking. To all who attended the service and Wick Cemetery. To staff at Town & County, Rosebank Wing, Community Nurses, Macmillan Nurses and support workers for keeping James comfortable in his last days. Thanks also to Sanders Harper form his professional services and Sarah Wilkinson for her personal service and the Queens Hotel for their friendly service. Collection for Town and County Hospital came to £227.38.

James Durrand

The family of the late James Durrand would like to thank everyone for their support and good wishes at this sad time.
The collection of £650 will be donated to Dementia support on his behalf.

David Miller

Anne and family would like to thank relatives and friends for their expressions of sympathy with cards, calls, flowers and baking following the sad loss of David. The doctors, nurses, paramedics and a special thank you to all the carers who came every day for the last year to help care for David.

Babs and the family of the late Anne Dunnett would like to extend thanks all family and friends for help at this sad time. Thanks to Rev.
