It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Alistair (Ellison) Wares late of Stroma. Ellison passed away peacefully in the Seaview House Care Home, Wick, on Saturday 31st January 2026, aged 91. Devoted husband of Margaret, loving father of Kevin and Alan, and proud grandad of Josh, Ethan and Tyler. Private cremation at Ellison’s request. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William (Grant) Bremner of Everley, Freswick.
Grant passed away peacefully in the Town and County Hospital, Wick, on Monday 12th January 2026, aged 83. Devoted husband of Marjory, loving father and father-in-law of Sandy and Maureen, and a proud grandad and great-grandad of Olivia, Adam, Tommi and Neeve. Suddenly but peacefully in Caithness General Hospital Wick on Monday 24th February 2025, Alastair, (Goldie), much loved husband of Janet, (nee Munro), loving dad of Michael and Michelle. Adored grandad of Billy, Aiden, Kade, Karen and Ally. A dear brother, uncle, father-in-law and friend to many. A celebration of Alastair’s life will be held at Sinclair’s Restrooms Macarthur Street Wick on Wednesday 5th March commencing at 12 (noon) thereafter to Mid-Clyth Cemetery. Richard Lapwood

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our beloved brother Richard Lapwood of Breadalbane Terrace, in Wick. He was a kind gentleman who never had a bad word for anyone and was a lifetime “fantastic Texas Holdem poker player”. A celebration of Richard’s life will take place from Sinclair’s Restrooms, Macarthur Street Wick on Friday 28th February commencing at 10.30am thereafter to Wick Cemetery.
