Michael Grogan

Michael died peacefully in Caithness General after succumbing to a long term illness in the early hours of Tuesday morning on the 24th of January aged 84. Michael will be cremated and his ashes scattered at his old family farm in England after a small family get together as he had requested. Michael came to Caithness in the mid 90’s and immediately fell in love with the county enjoying the peace and tranquillity it’s open spaces provided. Michael was a plasterer by trade but could turn his hand to almost anything building his own houses on more than one occasion. He was an avid poultry breeder and was a keen poultry club member showing his birds and eggs in the county shows and beyond where he won many prizes including at the Scottish National. Many people sought his advice about issues they had especially when it came to breeding and he was always happy to share his knowledge. He leaves behind 3 sons Steven Michael and Alan, two daughters Susan and Kathryn 4 grandchildren John, Deborah, Kelly and Lee and 4 great grandchildren Edward, Sophie, George and Harrison. Daughter in law Aileen and son in law Ray.
